Refunds

A refund goes back to the card you paid with. You do not need to do anything to receive it.

When a refund is issued

• After a return. Once the book you sent back arrives with us or with the seller, the refund is processed within 5 to 7 business days. Starting a return does not issue the refund by itself.
• Without a return. A seller can refund a copy without asking for it back, for example when a book arrived damaged and is not worth shipping. You may also receive a partial refund, such as a discount for a damaged copy you keep.
• Rentals can be refunded too; the book then shows Refunded on your rentals page.

How much

A full refund covers the book and the shipping you paid for it. Two things can make a refund smaller than the price you paid:

• If you returned the book for No longer needed or Another reason, the return postage comes out of your refund. The amount of postage is shown on the return under Prepaid label.
• If a returned book comes back damaged or with extra wear, the refund may be partial.

For the seller-fault reasons (Wrong item sent, Arrived damaged, Not as described, Arrived too late) the seller pays the return postage and you are refunded in full.

Where you see it

1. Sign in, click My account, then Orders.
2. An order with a refunded copy shows partly refunded on the order card.
3. Open Order details. The refunded copy carries a Refunded badge.
4. Under Returns, the same badge appears on the book inside the return.

We email you when the refund is on its way. Allow a few business days after that for your bank to post it.

Questions

If a refund has not appeared after 7 business days from the day the book arrived back, or the amount is not what you expected, email support@bookface.com with the order number.
