Review the eight parts of speech, five basic sentence patterns, usage, and mechanics. Introduce relative pronouns, pronoun reference problems, indicative/imperative mood. Dictionary skills, library skills, study skills, and the writing process are part of the year's work. Literature selections provide students the opportunity to analyze real texts.
